Elder Justice Act of 2009 - Part II
The protection of older adults has been largely handled by individual state Adult Protective Services agencies in the past, so we’ve had 50+ different systems in the U.S. for preventing and prosecuting crimes against vulnerable adults. The Elder Justice Act (EJA) now creates an Elder Justice Coordinating Council at the federal level within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). read more
