The TAGS board is really thinking outside the box. We are developing better programs by incorporating all of the Special Interest Groups around a theme. Rather than having many meetings of each interest group, the chairs are coordinating to have higher quality speakers and programs that appeal to all interest group. For example, the Ethics seminar was excellent and well attended. It appealed to social workers, nurses, management, and general members. We will be providing continuing education for most programs, including Quarterly meetings. We are truly working to customize TAGS for all members.
Speaking of members; sometimes people get confused about membership. TAGS members are all individuals. We do not have agency memberships. If you leave your place of employment, you are still a member. It is important for us to have a home address for you. We want to keep you in the loop no matter where you go.
We are already planning Summer Forum. Most of the programs are confirmed. We have outstanding, well known, keynote speakers. We hope to improve the silent auction benefiting the Janet Pacatte scholarship fund. We hope to attract more people in the community who may not yet know what TAGS is about. Please tell others about TAGS and invite them to a meeting or program. We aim to be inclusive.
All we need to make things perfect is for you to become more involved. Please volunteer to be a part of a committee or to assist with a part of the Summer Forum. We would love to have you get even more out of being a TAGS member than you already do.
"The great secret that all old people share is that you really haven't changed in seventy or eighty years. Your body changes, but you don't change at all. And that, of course, causes great confusion."
~ Doris Lessing
