Officer Julie Cox joined the Fort Worth Police Department in 2001 and was the 1st Hispanic female to graduate top in her academy class. In her time with the FWPD she had work the Northside, Eastside and Westside in a patrol capacity, on bike patrol, as a Neighborhood Police Officer, undercover in VICE and instructed at the Police Academy. She is currently assigned to the office of the Chief of Police were she is the Directions Home Liaison and the Liaison to the older adults and she works on the OPEN (Operation Partnership Emergency Network) program.
The Fort Worth Police department offers a number of programs and services to our older adult community. The purpose for this is to help independent seniors be safe and secure in their homes, to provide the children and caretakers of older senior with a place to turn to when they have questions and needs and to provide service providers with a point of contact within the police department.

- Fraud/Scam presentations
- RAPIDs

Tabletop presentations for facilities
- Staff Training
- Personal Safety
- Adult Neglect and Abuse
The Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD) funds salaries for the Neighborhood Police Officers (NPOs) who provide these services
