The Tarrant Area Gerontological Society (TAGS), in keeping with its mission to provide educational resources within our community as well as to further the cause of aging, has initiated a scholarship at the University of North Texas for Ph.D. students enrolled in the Division of Applied Gerontology.  TAGS has committed to providing a $1000 scholarship for the Fall as well as the Spring semesters, designated as the Janet B. Pacatte Memorial Scholarship.

Janet was the founding President of TAGS and lived out TAGS’ mission to “Make Tarrant County a Good Place to Grow Old” throughout her professional life. Janet was instrumental in initiating several vital components of the aging network within our community including the Alzheimer’s Association and the Tarrant County Commission on Aging.

It is fitting to name a scholarship Janet’s name, not only to recognize  her tremendous contributions in the field of aging, but also due to the fact that at the time of her tragic death, Janet was herself pursuing that very degree from UNT where she had also earned her Masters Degree in Applied Gerontology.

TAGS invites You to Help Train Future Professionals in Aging and to Pay Tribute to a True Champion for Aging, Janet Pacatte.

The Tarrant Area Gerontological Society is a 501(c)(3) organization.  We appreciate your contribution to help fund our efforts. Thank you.
