Guidelines for TAGS-Sponsored Scholarships
The following scholarships are TAGS-sponsored scholarships:
• Nursing (Undergraduate Level)
• Social Work (Undergraduate Level)
• Social Work (Graduate Level)
Nursing (Undergraduate Level)
Award:
- $500, Awarded each semester (Fall, Spring) to a student who meets following criteria; the award is given to the student at the start of the semester.
- One year complimentary student membership to TAGS
Criteria:
- Senior-level nursing student attending a college or university in Tarrant County: UT-Arlington, Texas Christian University, or Tarrant County College
- Interest in working with older adults
- Completion of application and essays
Social Work (Undergraduate Level)
Award:
- $750, Awarded each semester (Fall, Spring) to a student who meets the following criteria, given to the student at the start of the semester
- One year complimentary student membership to TAGS
Criteria:
- Senior-level undergraduate social work student attending a college or university in Tarrant County: UT Arlington or Texas Christian University
- Completion of field work or volunteer work in an agency that provides sevices to older adults is preferred
- Completion of application and essays
Social Work (Graduate Level)
Award:
- $1000 stipend (½ of the stipend given at midterm and the other ½ at the end of the semester), Awarded each semester (Fall, Spring) to a student who meets the following criteria
- One year complimentary student membership to TAGS
Criteria:
- Graduate social work student attending a college or university in Tarrant County: UT Arlington who is self-directed and able to work independently
- Completion or current participation of field placement in an agency that provides services to older adults
- Completion of application and essays
Deadlines for Applications
For Fall Awards – applications must be received no later than July 15th
For Spring Awards – applications must be received no later than November 15th
